BoatSmith is a celebration of rivers, community, and whitewater adventure on California’s spectacular Smith River. Held each Presidents Day weekend, the festival brings together paddlers of all kinds—kayakers, rafters, canoeists, packrafters, SUPers, and more—for several days of whitewater fun, friendly competition, and connection. Participants can enjoy a variety of whitewater runs ranging from Class I to Class V, with races, a mass float, and plenty of opportunities to get on the water.
The weekend kicks off Friday night with films and a social gathering at the Patrick Creek Lodge, followed by Saturday’s races and evening festivities. Sunday features a community float celebrating the Smith River and those who love it. There is free riverside camping at the Patrick Creek Campground just across the road from the lodge.
BoatSmith is open to everyone—Compete, Celebrate, Connect—and supports local efforts to connect people with rivers and the outdoors.
