Northern Rockies

In the Northern Rockies, American Whitewater’s work focuses on protecting rivers and recreational opportunities throughout Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. We have successfully advocated for hundreds of miles of river protection through the National Forest planning process, restored flows to impacted rivers like the Bear River and West Rosebud Creek, and played a role in the conservation of special places like Alberton Gorge. In a region that has more whitewater rivers than paddlers, there is a lot of work for river advocates!
