Good news!  The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments decided to fund the Little Falls gauge on the Potomac when they met on Friday, May 20.  The meeting was short of a quorum, therefore the decision is not yet locked in stone; however keeping the gauge in their budget was unanimously supported.  They Council is reportedly already working on a contract to pay for the gauge, and are going to notify USGS.  It appears that a shutdown was averted.  Thanks to our members for
