Accident Description

In a large group of over twenty paddlers one of the lesser experienced kayakers came out of this kayak and was swimming. We tried to get him to hang on to the back of the shredder. He was hanging on to the front as the shredder went over Big Pillow. He was a big guy and he held on tight. The shredder stood straight up allowing Julia to fall out. Another female kayaker named Sarah who had also been picked up jumped into Julia's position and helped paddle the shredder. While Julia was swimming in the backwash of Big Pillow she banged her leg on the rocks. She suffered a Left tibial plateau fracture that is compressed. She will be on crutches for at least 6 weeks.
