One dead following kayak>

VANCOUVER (CP) - A man in his 50s died Sunday afternoon when the kayak he was in was sucked into a whirlpool on the Capilano River. Sergeant Bob Tait of the West Vancouver police said the man left from a nearby fish hatchery on the river with another kayaker at about 1 p.m. With the river swollen with runoff after heavy rains, both kayakers quickly got into trouble.
