A 45 year old man died after his canoe capsized in rapids on the Connecticut River near Northampton, Massachusetts. Police reported that the victim was not wearing a PFD. I suspect that there were other incidents during the high water period following Hurricane Floyd, and anyone with information about them is encouraged to contact me.
