Sweetwater Creek and the Ocoee river were my first exposure to paddling as a kid in the 1970's. Immersion with whitewater kayaking began in 1987 in Butte Creek, Deer Creek, the Sacramento River and the American River, Feather River and Yuba River watersheds. Big Chico Creek, the Upper Sacramento River and the Trinity River were part of my 1990s explorations and regular runs. Raft Guiding the Cal-Salmon River, Wooley Creek and the Scott River and Klamath River.

I am a Swift Water Rescue Technician, a NOLS and Sierra Rescue International Certified WFR, a safety kayaker for the Gore Canyon Race and a contributor to AW as a Stream Keeper and lifetime donor.

Protecting and preserving streams is generational leadership and conservation is more than stewardship.

I worked as a Stream Survey Snorkel Crew Leader for the USFS Survey of North Fork Yuba River drainage.

As Head Guide for ABLE, Tributary, Wilderness Adventures, and Venture Quest I learned the Middle Fork American River, the upper and lower Stanislaus River and the North Fork Yuba Rivers and kayaked Baja California extensively.
