I'd probably break this into three runs. Waters Campground to Turners Corner. The big drops above waters campground. Then then not as big section above that.
The big drops in the middle are worth a close look before you huck them. From the bottom, there are maybe three sketchy slides. One of them has a piton rock on the right, and an undercut on the left. Then there is a falls, about 22 or so feet. Above that is another big slide. At the top of this section, right by a large parking area, with a creek coming in on river right is the top drop. A very sketchy drop with undercuts and potholes everywhere.
The stretch above this looked like some standard creeking, tight and technical. Takes a bunch of water.
Visual: look at the rock garden just upstream of the old bridge to the right of Dick's Creek Road. (New visual gauge at Turner's Corner hopefully coming soon.) Chestatee online gauge is many miles downriver: look for it to go over 2000 cfs.
Permits are not required for this reach.
