Southern Rockies

In the Southern Rockies, American Whitewater’s work focuses on protecting rivers and recreational opportunities across Colorado and the broader Colorado River basin. Our efforts address regional water supply issues, ensuring that rivers retain flows sufficient for recreation while balancing the demands of municipal, agricultural, and industrial users. In addition to advocating for sustainable water management, we work to secure and improve public access to rivers, develop local partnerships, and engage communities in stewardship of these iconic waterways. By integrating recreation, conservation, and water policy, American Whitewater helps ensure that Southern Rockies rivers continue to provide ecological, scenic, and recreational benefits for current and future generations.
