2001 Ohiopyle Falls Race Goes Off Without a Hitch

The 2001 Ohiopyle Falls Race once again demonstrated just how fun and safe the Ohiopyle falls really are for experienced paddlers. Thanks to Joe Braden for countless hours of planning, and to all of the volunteers who made this event possible. Top finishers in the race were Steve Kauffman in a wildwater boat, and Maria Kallman dominated the women. Also featured was a “freestyle” event in which competitors ignored most self-preservation instincts and hucked themselves from the falls in all

Upper Gauley Take-out May Be Closed by Campers! Spread the Word.

Want to protect your FREE, unlimited access at Panther Creek (AKA Mason Branch)? Then don’t camp at the site, and don’t build fires in the field. Most importantly, if you see campers at the site, take charge of the situation and ask them to move along to a campground elsewhere. If boaters blow our access at the Panther Creek take-out, then there is no other access point until you get to Bucklick (the put in for the Lower), and it
